Maryborough is a city and a suburb in the Fraser Coast Region located on the Mary River in Queensland, Australia; Approximately 255 kilometers north of the state capital, Brisbane.

Established and designed by Daniel Soutar, in 1927 Maryborough Golf Club QLD is the longest established Golf club in the region. Updated in 1986 by John Burley, Maryborough Golf QLD has a very impressive watering system with one of the main boundaries being a heritage listed water reserve, named Ululah Lagoon. Meaning water-lillies, Ululah Lagoon is a key feature of the Anzac Park in Maryborough, abundant with wildlife who make the lagoon their home.

Their 18-hole golf course opens with contrasting long and short par 4s introducing golfers to the tight layout and tree lines fairways that will cost you a shot if you happen to miss them.  The 363-metre 8th is the standout hole of the front nine being a rare double water carry par 4.

The first task is negotiating the 180-metre water carry from the tee; the second challenge is finding the green with a mid-iron over another water carry to a green protected by three bunkers.  Rated number 2, it is one of the toughest holes on the course.  Be aware of the odd flock of geese who frequent Hole 9.

The hardest hole is the 407-metre, par 4, 18th. This hole invariably plays into a south-easterly breeze.  With water right and trees to the left players need to be long and accurate to give themselves any chance of attacking the bunker clad green with a long iron.
